ENTRY


1. When are competition entries open?

Entries open at 8am AEDST on Monday 6 November 2017 and close at 8am AEDST on Monday 4 December 2017.


2. Who is eligible to be nominated for Act for ACT?

Nominees must be living in the ACT and be over the age of 18 years. Nominees must be individual people. Groups of people are not eligible for nomination.


3. Does it cost anything to enter?

Cost of entry via the internet is free, but internet connection and usage rates may apply.


4. Will the entrant I nominate be used in media opportunities as a competition finalist or winner?

Yes. We will contact the person you have nominated to obtain their official agreement to be part of the competition. By agreeing, they and their image may be used for media opportunities which may or may not be published and otherwise publically broadcast.


5. How long will it take for my submission to be approved?

Submissions will be reviewed as soon as possible and you'll receive an email to let you know if it has been successful.

PRIZES


7. What prizes are on offer?

There are 5 prizes to be awarded for Act for ACT:

4 x major prize winners that each receive $5,000 PLUS $5,000 donated to the Canberra Hospital Foundation in their name.

1 x People’s Choice Award winner that receives $5,000 PLUS $5,000 donated to the Canberra Hospital Foundation in their name.

SELECTION


8. How will the 20 finalists be chosen?

The finalists will be selected by a panel of judges.


9. When will the 20 finalists be announced?

The judging panel will shortlist 20 finalists between 9am AEDST on Monday 4 December and 11:59pm AEDST on Monday 4 December. The finalists will also be notified directly by email.


10. When can we vote for the People’s Choice Award?

The People’s Choice Award voting will commence on Tuesday 5 December 2017 (12noon AEDST), with voting closing on Thursday 14 December 2017 (12noon AEDST).


11. How do we vote for the People's Choice Award?

When voting opens, you will be able to register to vote via www.actforact.com.au by following the prompts. You will be required to enter your email address on the website, and a link to activate your voting account will then be sent to your nominated email address. Once you have activated your account, you will be able to vote for your favourite finalist or finalists. You will be able to vote for more than one finalist to win the People’s Choice award, but only one vote per entrant will be accepted.


12. Will the finalists be profiled in news media?

The 20 finalists may be profiled in metropolitan and regional media, depending on media interest.


13. When can I claim my prizes?

Winners must confirm acceptance of the prize within three (3) business days of being notified. We will work with you to finalise the details of your prize collection or delivery.


14. What if I don't claim my prize within three business days?

Any prizes not redeemed within the time stipulated will be forfeited and awarded to the entrant judged to have been the next best entry.


15. When will the winners be announced?

All of the 5 winners, including the People's Choice Award will be announced on Friday 15 December 2017 at 9am AEDST.
